Single Bird Entries (US $ 750/Pigeon)

Single Bird Team: Participants may enter one or more single-bird teams of 1 activated pigeon and up to 4 reserve pigeons per team.
First Pigeon Activation Fee: A minimum of 1 pigeon per team has to be activated upon entry at US$ 750. The total is, therefore, US$ 750 if a team of 5 birds is sent.
Reserve Pigeons: Reserve pigeons can replace activated pigeons before the activation race with no additional payment.
Number of Pigeons: Fanciers are allowed to send a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 50 pigeons to represent them in the AFRIKAPRO loft.
Activation Fee: The reserves in each team can be activated by paying US$ 750 for each. All pigeons that return within 3 days after the activation race will be due for activation.
Activation Fee Payment Period: Participants will have 5 days to pay the activation fee for all their pigeons that return from the activation race.
Unactivated Pigeons: For participants who do not activate their pigeons within the stipulated period, the unactivated pigeons will be made available for all willing buyers to activate throughout the season. The activation fee for these pigeons is US$ 750 per pigeon

SINGLE-BIRD ENTRIES WILL COMPETE IN THE FOLLOWING COMPETITIONS:

ACE PIGEON (BLUE JACKET) COMPETITION - $ 488 500,00
This competition will evaluate the performance of all pigeons throughout the series. 200 prizes will be awarded to the top 200 ACE pigeons based on their cumulative flying time over 10 consecutive races.

FINAL RACE - $ 450 000.00
All pigeons that make it to the Final Race will compete for 200 prizes. The organisers reserve the right to adjust the distance to ensure a final race of approximately 8 to 9 hours in duration or 600km in distance.

RACE WINNERS - $239 500.00
The 2024 AFRIKAPRO series features 10 consecutive races, each with dedicated prizes for the top 10 winners of all individual races.

ENDURANCE SERIES (BROWN JACKET) COMPETITION - $ 100 000.00
The Endurance ACE Pigeon titles will be conferred upon the 10 pigeons with the shortest accumulated flying time over the last 5 races of the season.

SPRINT SERIES (GREEN JACKET) COMPETITION - $ 79 000.00
The Sprinter ACE Pigeon title will be awarded to the pigeon with the shortest accumulated flying time over the first 5 races of the season. The year's top 10 Sprinter ACE pigeons will be recognised for their exceptional sprinting abilities.

*Single pigeon entries are not eligible for Fancier competitions, such as the "Fancier of the Race" and "Black Jacket" competition. However, single-bird entrants may create syndicates for participation in these fancier competitions.

Full Team

Full team entrants will compete in all the abovementioned competitions, including the 2 fancier competitions. Forming syndicate teams will allow single-bird entrants to participate in all competitions.

All fanciers entering a full team born and bred overseas can nominate 20 pigeons/team representing their team after the activation race - Before Race 1.
All fanciers whose pigeons are born and bred locally in South Africa must nominate 15 pigeons/teams representing their team after the activation race. Such fanciers can top up their squad to 15 after the activation race.
A Maximum of two teams (25 pigeons/team) or 50 pigeons per fancier will be allowed to enter the AFRIKAPRO loft.
Pigeons over and above the nominated 20 or 15 pigeons per team will compete in the single bird entry competitions (entry US $ 750/pigeon)

Full teams compete in all 7 competitions, including the following two fancier competitions to recognise the best fanciers.

FANCIER OF THE RACE: $30,000.00

Determined by the shortest combined flying time of the first two activated pigeons per team in a specific race.

CHAMPION FANCIER (BLACK JACKET) COMPETITION - $ 663 000.00

Champion Fancier is determined by the shortest combined flying time of the first two activated pigeons over 10 consecutive races. Fanciers must select and activate their top 10 performing pigeons in their team before every race.

The fancier with the fastest accumulated flying time wins the "Fancier of the Year" award.

Teams will compete in these competitions.

(Intake for quarantine will be from October 23, 2023, to November 3, 2023).

Quarantine starts in The USA on the 3rd of November, 2023.

Those pigeons will be shipped to South Africa (AFRIKAPRO Loft) the first week of December.

Those pigeons will be shipped to South Africa – (AFRIKAPRO Loft) in the third week of January 2024.

Pigeons are born at the end of December 2023 to the beginning of January 2024

Ship pigeons to Daniel Hash/Avian Export Services- USA from February 19, 2024, to March 5, 2024.

Quarantine starts in the USA on March 5, 2024.

Those pigeons will be shipped to AFRIKAPRO around the second week of April 2024.
